Agland Co-op, Inc is currently searching for an Agronomist for the Fresno, Ohio area. 
The individual will be responsible for:

*  Studying the crop production to discover best methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting,
    and effects of various climatic conditions on crops.
*  Developing methods for control of noxious weeds, crop diseases, and insect pests.
*  Planning and carrying out breeding studies at experiment stations or farms to develop
   and improve varieties of field crops.
*  Examining results of breeding studies to discover and enhance characteristics such as yield, quality, 
    adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests.
*  Serving as a primary field contact for seed production which includes: grower management and support 
   (acreage planning, quality control, etc.), coordinating integrated 
    pest management program, and coordinating production research programs at the plant level.

Requirements:

 

·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Agronomy or
 Associates Degree (A.A.) in Agronomy from a two year program.

·         3-5 years experience working with seed growers and seed plant operations.

·         Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant operations; Knowledge of field equipment.

·         Equivalent combination of education experience. 

·         Certified Crop Advisor is preferred.
